This instrument was built in the 70's and underwent work by a professional Zuckermann agent in the 80's. It is a reliable instrument that has been well maintained with 2x8. Each choir plays beautifully. It has an especially robust sound when both choirs are engaged. This instrument is in fine condition, with a lovely walnut veneer. It would be a perfect continuo instrument for a person that needs something relatively easy to move. It is also valuable as a good instrument for the beginner. We think this instrument is a wonderful bargain. $6000 or best offer. | |
after Hubert, Haas and other German 18th Century builders | | | | This clavichord was made in 2002 by master builder Ed Kottick. Ed is the author of the classic "The Harpsichord Owner's Guide." For many years Ed made regular visits to the great European museums to examine, play, and listen to antique harpsichords, and is acknowledged as an expert in the history of the instrument. His latest book, "A History of the Harpsichord," covers its entire 600-year history in nearly 600 pages, and comes with an accompanying CD of examples of various historical harpsichords. This instrument is in a flaming American cherry wood, with ebony naturals and bone topped sharps. It comes with a custom apron stand with turned and fluted legs. The wide range of its keyboard will cover nearly all baroque repertoire and even classical music of Mozart, Haydn, C.P.E Bach and even early Beethoven. A true instrument for the connoisseur. PRICE: Please inquire. Serious offers will be strongly considered. |
